Service Description

We offer treatments for hyperhidrosis, which is a treatment for excessive sweating. It is estimated that hyperhidrosis affects at least 1% of the population but could be higher as many patients do not seek medical advice or even know that they can seek medical advice. Hyperhidrosis is a medical sweating condition that can affect the whole body or just certain areas of the body such as underarm and palms of the hands. Excessive sweating can affect a persons day to day life, confidence levels and cause them to feel unhappy. It affects people of all ages including children. It can stop people from wanting to go out, exercise, socialise, make them not want to wear certain colours or clothes. It can also have an effect on people mentally and emotionally. Hyperhidrosis is treated wth the use of Botulinum Toxin Type A, which works by blocking the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. Prior to treatment we advise you not to shave the area or apply any antiperspirant for at least 48 hours leading up to your appointment. *There are less invasive alternative treatments available if you wish to try these first.
